The House of Ullr ski lodge offers an incredible position within the Village, conveniently located within walking distance of most of the events held in Thredbo throughout the year.  We are the perfect base for you to explore the Thredbo valley and surrounds has to offer.

WINTER IN THREDBO

Along with the numerous ski and snowboarding events that are held consistently throughout the Winter months here in Thredbo, below we have listed some of our favourite annual events. The dates of these events change each year so we suggest you visit the event websites for more information.

Winter Opening Weekend

When: June

A celebration of the opening of the Winter ski season. Events include long lunches, live entertainment, kid’s activities and more.

Kids School Holidays Snow Festival

When: NSW School Holidays

Every school holidays Thredbo comes alive with free activities for the kids including movie and pizza nights, kids flare run, night skiing and much more.  Of course, there are also plenty of après events for Mum and Dad.

NSW Interschools Snowsports Championships

When: July

Students from Australian schools compete for their school in a competitive snowsports competition. Event information »

Christmas in July

When: July

With the Australian Christmas hot, it’s become an Aussie tradition to celebrate a snowy Christmas in July. Thredbo celebrates with a mix of festivities, including a visit from Santa himself.

Snowtunes Music Festival

When: August

The southern hemisphere’s biggest snow music festival, this annual event showcases some of the hottest Australian and International artists.  Event information »

SPRING IN THREDBO

Rainbow Mountain

When: September

Dubbed “A Heaps Gay Snow Week”, this is a crazy, glittery week is jam-packed with on and off snow events, parties, après, huge live concerts, champagne lunches and more.

Oktoberfest

When: October

Oktoberfest is traditionally how we send off the Winter snow season. We celebrate music, games, drinking and feasting! Indulge in German Biers, tasty food and entertainment at various venues throughout the village – including the House of Ullr.

SUMMER IN THREDBO

Thredbo Blues Festival

When: January 

This event brings the party to Thredbo every Summer.  With a jam-packed three day program featuring exceptional Australian and International blues players. From intimate bars to spectacular outdoor venues, Thredbo Village is given over to the blues. Festival information »

AUTUMN IN THREDBO

Thredbo Food and Wine Festival

When: March

Experience a “Taste of the Snowies” and indulge in some of the regions best food and wine. Features of the event include progressive dinner, food and wine tasting, marked day, cheese rolling competition, talks and demonstrations, and live entertainment.

Australian Mountain Biking Interschools

When: March

During this four day event, students from schools around Australia get a chance to experience mountain biking in a competitive and supportive environment.

Mountain Biking Racing Events

When: March

A series of mountain bike racing events and weekends full of rock drops, gap jumps and high speed. At House of Ullr we have a range of accommodation for mountain bikers and their guests within easy walking (and riding) distance of the event.  Event information »

Easter in the Thredbo Village

When: Easter Long Weekend

Thredbo comes alive during the Easter Long Weekend with lots of fun events for the entire family including Easter egg hunts, hiking challenges, bike riding events, free disc golf, family yoga, Easter egg basket making, face painting, giant chess and live entertainment, to name but a few. House of Ullr

We are a boutique ski lodge in the heart of Thredbo village.

House of Ullr is widely acknowledged as the Nordical Heart of Thredbo. Our lodge offers an incredible position within Thredbo Village and is only metres away from the Valley Terminal and the mountain’s multiple chairlifts. Our location enables you to easily experience all that Thredbo has to offer as well as some of Australia’s most breathtaking views.

House of Ullr offers a variety of accommodation options to suit singles, couples, groups of friends and families. Our spacious 1, 2 and 3 bedroom rooms all have ensuite bathrooms and a range of modern conveniences.  Many of our rooms feature uninterrupted Mountain Views. All of our guests have access to a secure ski/drying room and laundry facilities.

House of Ullr is also home to our very own Mexican Restaurant. The Mad Mexican is open for both breakfast and dinner, serving delicious food all year round. Our newly renovated spacious bar and social area is the perfect Après–ski spot.

Our location couldn’t be more convenient. We are only 300 metres from Merrits Double Chair and Snowgums Ski Lift, and a 5-10 minute stroll (200 metres) to Kosciuszko Express Quad Chairlift which provides access to ski runs and features panoramic mountain views year-round. For beginners, we are 700 metres (10 minute walk) from Friday Flats.

For guests who prefer the convenience of the free shuttle bus that operates throughout winter, it’s only 150 metres from us.

The Thredbo Village supermarket, chemist, newsagency and boutique shops are a 6 minute walk (approx 150 metres) from House of Ullr, Thredbo Leisure Centre and overnight carpark.
